So unstable on iOS26 and beyond
I’m so annoyed that this app keeps crashing on my iPhone 17 Pro on iOS 26.5.1. It has been unstable for months. I’ll scroll for a while, and then parts of the app screen go white… that’s the foreshadowing that there’s only a few more moments before it crashes. I’m seriously so tired of it. Fix the app instability already please!

Long story short I don't get it. I searched for a product and I tried to organize what I was seeing from best reviews to worst and I'm seeing products with less than a thousand reviews ahead of products with 39,xxx reviews and they have a better rating from all the combined reviews which doesn't make sense so I'm not sure there is a correct way to view anything in the order you'd like to view it in and I did get it down to less than 200 products but the algorithm isn't correct.

This app is so much worse in the past couple of months.

Simple searching for a product now triggers Alexa to open. I don’t use or want to use Alexa. I just want to search for hdmi cables or clothes hangers like a normal person.
Button placement for add to cart or save for later changes, which causes the user to accidentally trigger “see it in your space.” I’m sorry, but I don’t need to see what a container of face cream looks like in my kitchen.
The app can’t load pages anymore either. Probably 1 out of 10 views of a pdp causes the app to hang, showing only little bits of the page, freezing functionality, then crashes. And search doesn’t show recently searched items, so you have to start all over.
I’m one more accidental Alexa search from deleting the app from my phone altogether. It’s not worth the frustration anymore.

obviously I have been using the Amazon app for years, but for months now it has gotten almost impossible to use. Every image, every page, every item takes forever to load and it's to the point that I'm returning to online shopping at specific retailers rather than browsing Amazon like I used to. the rest of my apps/phone is fine and this happens regardless of if I'm on mobile or data, so it's definitely an app issue

Horrible customer service
I used to rely heavily on Amazon for their high customer service standards, but lately, their support—especially chat—has become an absolute nightmare. As a resident of Hawaii, it’s clear that Amazon’s systems have not caught up to local shipping restrictions. Agents repeatedly assign USPS or Whole Foods return drop-offs for battery items, completely oblivious to the fact that neither can accept them because Amazon issued the wrong return label. When you call them out on it, agents literally say, "I hope you understand our limitations," and hang up on you.
My experience today (06/09) was the final straw. I had to return two defective items totaling $219. Amazon refused to send a prepaid label (which makes no sense for a defective item) but promised they would refund my shipping costs. Because I'm in Hawaii, the cheapest shipping at USPS was a whopping $110.05.
What followed was a 2.0+ hour saga of gaslighting and utter incompetence:
Agent 1 claimed they couldn't see the promise to refund shipping.
The Supervisor refused the refund because it was a "digital receipt," which is hilarious and deeply ironic coming from an e-commerce giant that doesn’t issue paper invoices.
Phone Agents bounced me around, claiming I only sent half a receipt (I sent both halves). One refused to stay on the line while I resent it.
Chat Agent 1 suddenly claimed there was a policy capping shipping refunds at $75, but couldn't actually produce or link the policy.
Chat Agent 2 & Supervisor dropped the offer to $55 cash + the rest in a gift card, then promised the full $110, told me to check my email, and abruptly disconnected the chat. No email arrived, but a random $55 refund appeared on my account.
I finally had to call again to get a rep who could actually see the full $110 and send a confirmation email. While the money was eventually sorted, the sheer amount of gaslighting, shifting lies, and systemic inconsistency is unacceptable. Amazon is driving its customers straight into the arms of Walmart and Target. Jeff Bezos needs to stop focusing on rockets and get his core company back in order.

Amazon Customer Service is a mystery. You can never get a hold of anyone. Any time your item doesn't ship or arrive on time they always push it to the next day, even though the item still has never shipped. 10 times in the past year, twice in the past 48 hours I have had items from major vendors canceled because no one knows where my products are. When you try to contact customer service via the app they always cut and paste cookie cutter FAQs. If you try to email them directly you get nothing.

BOOOO ON THIS NEW SHOPPING FEATURE IT IS AWFUL AND SLOW AND DESTROYING THE ENVIRONMENT I HAVE A BRAIN I DO NOT NEED YOUR AI TO THINK FOR ME AND SHOVE SUGGESTIONS DOWN MY THROAT

That Rufus pop up panel that appears at the bottom of the screen when you're looking at an item..SO ANNOYING! It's very distracting and not helpful, why do this? Trying to be cool or something cos AI is the latest thing? It even tells you, I'll probably get it wrong! I know it's pointless writing a review here, but anyone else annoyed, please comment. Another update more nonsense: now it takes an extra click to see seller profile, why, what is the point? Can't search within seller storefront

I don’t know what godforsaken weblab A/B test they’ve got me on, but every time I search for a product using the regular search bar, it comes up with some Alexa AI result instead of an actual product search. Sure, Alexa suggests products, but it’s slow to load. It’s an extra tap to just view regular search results.
Revert this change. Whoever approved this feature does not deserve the promotion they’re gunning for. “Earns Trust” and “Customer Obsession” failure.

App itself is fine. Everything else sucks. Subscribe & Save is a joke. For one, I canceled 2 orders & skipped deliveries. I still got billed for them anyways, and they were shipped. Even though I CANCELED THEM. Once shipped, you can't cancel and have already been charged. They say you can return it, once received. That's only true for certain things. So basically forced into an order I didn't wanted and charged for it. I can't even count how many times it's happened, & there's no recourse.

Prices depends on your algorithm and dark mode
I have observed on many occasions that when I shop for a random item but don’t buy it, come back later the price is higher and the discount is bigger which adds up to the same or more. Sometimes they target you with a time limited offer to pressure i to buying by giving 15 minutes for example and a big percentage off (main price is higher) and go in cycles.
Also, the price that it has for me is not the price that everyone has. Idk exactly how they do the math but i have made comparisons with same items, same store, same everything. Different price.
I strongly recommend for Amazon to have the dark mode option within app.

I was loving this app but now I am having troubles with it which is going to cause problems. I revised a payment on something and it didn't show up in my orders so I assumed I didn't purchase it and went to try again. turns out that two were in my cart paid for now! So I had to attempt to cancel one. One major annoying problem this app has is this thing where when you've purchased something or had an issue or canceled an item, it doesn't disappear from the history thing. Fix your app! Please!

I don’t want “ai assistance” searching. I want basic search. There’s no apparent way to turn it off.

I love Amazon, I have had some problems here and there, but that was mainly from sellers, not Amazon directly, Amazon is always nice and fixed problems straight away. But the biggest downfall to Amazon is the core of its app, which is how it functions. Amazing has A LOT to offer, which is amazing, it's a one stop shop kind of place, but navigating through the app is literally impossible. In my options there are way too many services jammed packed into one app.

Zero need for this we know how to use our brain. And to add disable the camera button! that has zero use. we want simplicity

used to be my favorite place to shop. the latest update ruined that. there's so much stuff on one page. it's overwhelming for me. I have to close the app and shop online somewhere else. it's too bad, there's an amazing selection but no way to see all of it. it's like those other cheap websites, no rhyme or reason and very unorganized. 0 stars , do not recommend. not a seamless shopping experience at all. 😓

Alexa messes up everything!!

Since the removal of Rufus, Alexa and Amazon AI locks the account where one cannot get into ones wallet nor can one chat with customers service AI freezes every page!!! It awful!!!

no way is Amazon that good! I've lived in multiple locations but where I'm at now at least 50% of the packages don't even arrive. I spend more time dealing with refunds then shopping. might as well order from anywhere else because if I try to get fast shipping it's almost always delayed to the point it's slower than most places. multiple times of ordered the same thing from different places and Amazon is the last one to show up if it shows up at all. I am very close to two very large cities!?

Latest update is a downgrade
The last thing I’d want when searching for an item is to have an AI assistant bumbling through it for me but that’s what they’ve given me. Sure you can click “show search results” but why can’t that be the default? I absolutely hate the Alexa/AI features being shoved down my throat - let me turn them off!

I like Amazon. It's convenient. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that next-day delivery! You pay for a service, expecting it to be there when you need it. When it doesn't arrive on time, it throws off all your plans. It's like paying extra for a guarantee that just doesn't get delivered. Hopefully, they can get their shipping times sorted out soon.
