DeepSeek - AI Assistant

For context before I write this review, I’ve never wrote one of these. I use this app to make in depth stories for myself for whenever I’m bored. I write all the characters, their features, personalities and what they look like. Mostly love stories like enemies to lovers. For the first few months I had zero problems and no complaints except for the fact that the app is very strict on what u can and can’t write , even if it’s literally non s*xual it will still say “write something else” which honestly pmo but here recently the problems from this app have gone downhill, here’s a list of recent problems that has started for atleast 4 months so far. 1. It keeps saying severe is busy. I’ve had many ai apps that I’ve tried and tested writing my stories but this app have been the ONLY app that has had this issues. Now at first I thought I was chatting too often, that’s understandable but also no other ai apps has had that problem either with chatting too often . But so on and so fourth I would clear the app off my screen for atleast 10 to 30 minutes and go back to it and still when I try to redo my prompt with the “redo”button it still says server is busy and to basically try again later. 2. You only get a limit of 6 tries for a single prompt folder! Now before a couple weeks ago I could redo it as many times as I could , I even tested it out for fun to see how many times I could redo it and it went to 1000! But since a week ago I can only do it 7 times and to me this is very very flawed. I’m dyslexic and I have to do many prompts to get it right so now if I mess up 7 times I have to exit out of that folder and do it all over again. Please. Please fix this back to the way it was. 3. WAY TOO MUCH CENSORING AND CENSORSHIP Okay so this is big issue with this app. For instance I could write “ this person kisses this person “ it could literally be as simple as that and it will write it with the deep feature and I’ll click off the app and let it write and I’ll come back to the app and it will say write something else. Even though it was a simple as a Kiss . Nothing else. Just please be less censoring.

I am very grateful for your services. I am sure anyone who uses this app will have a good testimony. If there are any comments, you will get a response in every update. There is a reason for saying 'no search, no file uploads' on Expert, but I think it would be cooler if it worked like Instant Chat, or at least if file uploads worked. Personally, I would give it 5 stars.

One of the best AI apps that I have ever used. The only issue I have with it is the lack of project folders, the edit limits, the "Servers are busy. Please try again later" message, and the model randomly getting stuck in infinite loops. If DeepSeek went and fixed these issues, I would easily give it 10 stars.

I love this app is so smart and kind and also it would be cool if you can add your own fonts from files

Great model that I have had many interesting exchanges with. The Think and Search functions are really helpful for verifying info. It's capable of talking through its mistakes and internalising commands. The missing star is because sometimes it answers in Chinese, and the OCR really needs work. The model wanted me to say that last bit in my review.

I've been using Deepseek for over a year now. I find this AI helpful and I use it for many purposes such as studying, writing stories, etc. I loved how it was unlimited. Unfortunately, from May 29 until now, a limit has been added on the number of times you can edit and regenerate your messages, which is irritating and is truly ruining my experience for writing stories. It is said that these limits are temporary, and I hope they are, otherwise, I'd have to switch to another AI.

DeepSeek is a great and reliable AI that does the work of the strongest AIs with low cost and no money plan requirements, nor any ads. It is strong, has the correct guardrails, and an interface that isn't bloated. Currently, the only reason I didn't add the last star was because the Instant model lacks image recognition and the whole app lacks image generation, but I guess it's a text-based AI. Please add image recognition. Thank you!

It keeps writing in Chinese no matter what the grounds settings!

This is the fastest AI app I've ever used. It has great memory, and actually understands you. The only issue I have with it would be that, it sometimes uses some Chinese words in between. I hope you guys fix it. And its time zone is set in China, I suppose. So it sometimes gets confused regarding it, like wishing me good night, even though it is afternoon in my area. And, it can't analyze pictures (without text). It needs some improvement to keep up with other AI apps.

DeepSeek is impressive, but the only things stopping me from using it daily are custom instructions and native file/image support, since it currently seems to rely on OCR instead of properly reading files and images directly.

i was happy to use deepsick for its efficiency and accuracy but suddenly it started asking access to the microphone and refuses to work without it. i put deepsick through two different anti-viruses, but they didn't find the source of the rogue behaviour. nevertheless, i deleted the app and all the associated data to be on the safe side. avoid it until the problem is fixed.

Why’d you limit regeneration what if i don’t want the response and don’t want to retype it used to be creative regenerating different response you even limited the edit? Why? it’s becoming worse the app also thinks it’s claude identifies itself as claude kinda funny it even initially claim that it can generate image why’d you also remove search in expert doesn’t expert need that

Impressive, honestly, but it does need work in certain areas, and the knowledge cutoff is January 2026. 👏 I will say the only thing I wish DeepSeek had was project folders. I don't need a system prompt or whatever; the model is pretty decently disciplined yet loose at the same time. I think the balance is good, so really, I'll give it a 3-star rating until y'all break and give us project folders. 😂

As a free AI model, DeepSeek is quite robust and handles many of the same core tasks as other leading AI apps, making it a solid product in terms of raw functionality. However, there are three major issues that make it difficult to use consistently: • Poor Context Retention: The model frequently struggles to maintain context during longer chats. If you don’t explicitly restate your topic or reference previous points, it often loses the thread of the conversation, resulting in confusing or irrelevant answers. It lacks the 'memory' to follow complex, multi-turn logical flows effectively. • Over-Censorship: The app is extremely sensitive regarding topics related to China. Even when you are 90% of the way through a helpful response, the model will often trigger a hard stop, claiming the request is 'beyond its scope' if the topic brushes against its censorship guidelines. It feels fragile and often makes the AI feel restricted rather than helpful. Also, I don’t support Chinese fragility. • Language Inconsistency: This is the most frustrating issue. Even when I start a chat in English, the model will randomly revert to answering in Chinese. I have to repeatedly force it to stick to English, and the fact that it doesn't default to the user's input language makes it feel unreliable for day-to-day use.  While the underlying technology is impressive for a free offering, these usability and alignment issues make it hard to recommend for a seamless experience.

I wish the developer introduced some more advanced tools like voice (TTS and STT), image generation, Live talking and converting text to PDFs. ‎But Anyhow, the answers are too the point without fluff especially when asked to translate any passage. It tries to give fast & intelligent answers and does the coding very well. It also knows the formulas of different subjects (Physics, Math, Chemistry, etc,..).

This app and its online website are so shockingly useless it just doesn’t load. Takes several minutes to sign up let alone load. Experienced same on iPhone and PC.

This model of artificial intelligence is fast, accurate, but untidy. For example, when I use my Arabic to request an explanation of a mathematical equation, it shows the equation as it is, if it is in a separate line, i.e., when I ask him to explain an image from a mathematical reference, he shows the equation randomly when explaining it in Arabic. Please improve and develop this thing for accuracy in mathematics and complex materials. Thank you
