Apptonic vs Appfigures
Appfigures is an app analytics, ASO and market research platform for your own apps and your competitors'.
Appfigures is the closest thing here to a genuine overlap, and on several axes it is simply better than this product.
Their ASO tooling has no equivalent here: up to 2,500 tracked keywords with hourly ranking updates, competitor keyword sets, metadata optimisation. Neither does their own-app side โ connect your store accounts and get unified downloads, revenue, subscriptions and reviews, plus ad spend consolidation. They also have Apple Search Ads intelligence and SDK Intelligence, and an API on every tier including Free. Their entry price is $9.99 a month.
Two things worth correcting if you have read other comparisons of these tools, because both claims circulate and both are wrong. Appfigures does have ad creatives โ Ad Intelligence covers ad networks and an Ad Gallery of banners, videos and playables linked to apps. And Appfigures does surface contact details: Publisher Profiles includes an employee directory with names, emails and titles.
The real distinction is narrower than "they have no creative data". It is that their ad gallery is built by observing ads in the wild and, per their own knowledge base, is an early preview that does not capture some popular sources including Facebook โ while the contacts they surface are publisher employees rather than the creators posting about an app. This product goes the other way: organic creator coverage across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube joined to the app, and contacts for those creators.
Side by side
| Capability | Apptonic | Appfigures |
|---|---|---|
| Organic creator posts joined to an app | Yes. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube; confidence-scored per video | No. No organic social dataset in the product. Their six datasets cover app performance, demographics, SDKs, ads, publishers and store data. They do publish editorial articles about creators, which is a different thing |
| Creator identities, follower counts and contacts | Yes. The creators posting about an app; contact unlock 1 credit | Partly. Publisher Profiles surfaces publisher employees โ names, emails, titles โ which is genuinely useful, but they are staff at the company, not the creators promoting the app |
| Paid ad creatives | Yes. Live Meta and TikTok ads, with longevity and variant count | Partly. Ad Intelligence includes an Ad Gallery of banners, videos and playables linked to apps. Their knowledge base describes it as an early preview built by observing ads in the wild, and states they are not capturing some popular sources including Facebook |
| ASO keyword tracking and metadata tooling | No. Not offered | Yes. Their strength โ up to 2,500 keywords, hourly updates from Optimize up, competitor keyword sets. We have no equivalent |
| Analytics on your own apps | No. Competitor-facing only | Yes. Connect your store accounts for unified downloads, revenue, subscriptions and reviews, plus ad spend consolidation |
| Apple Search Ads intelligence | No. Not offered | Yes. Available on their Boost and Amplify tiers |
| Estimated downloads and revenue history | Yes. Twelve months, included at every tier | Yes. Last month only on Free, Connect and Monitor; full history from Optimize ($149.99/month) upwards |
| API access | No. Not offered publicly | Yes. On every tier, including Free |
| Cheapest paid entry point | No. Premium is $99/month; the free plan is 10 credits | Yes. Connect is $9.99/month, or $7.99 billed annually |

When Appfigures is the better choice
- You need ASO. Keyword tracking, ranking history and metadata optimisation are their core competence and we do not offer them at all.
- You want analytics on your own apps, not just competitors โ connected store data, subscriptions, revenue, ad spend in one place.
- You want Apple Search Ads intelligence or SDK Intelligence.
- You want an API, especially on a cheap tier. They include it everywhere, we do not offer one.
- Budget is the binding constraint. $9.99 a month is a different conversation from $99.
When Apptonic fits better
- The question is which creators are driving an app's growth, and how to reach them. That dataset does not exist in Appfigures.
- You need organic social coverage across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube joined to the app, not only store and ad data.
- You want a complete live Meta ad picture. Their gallery is an early preview and, by their own account, is missing some popular sources including Facebook.
- You want twelve months of install and revenue history without stepping up to a $149.99 tier.
- You are researching competitors rather than instrumenting your own app.
Frequently asked
- Is this an Appfigures alternative?
- Partly, and honestly less than you might expect. For creator and organic-content research it does something Appfigures has no dataset for. For ASO, own-app analytics, Apple Search Ads and API access, Appfigures is the better tool and cheaper. Plenty of teams would reasonably use both.
- How much does Appfigures cost?
- Published: Free at $0, then Connect $9.99, Monitor $44.99, Optimize $149.99, Boost $599.99 and Amplify $1,399.99 per month, with 20% off annual billing. Paid tiers include 5 apps and charge $1.99 per extra app. Note that full download and revenue history starts at Optimize.
- Does Appfigures show creators promoting an app?
- No โ there is no organic social dataset in the product. It does surface publisher employee contacts through Publisher Profiles, which is useful but different: those are staff at the company behind the app, not the creators posting about it.
